HOW FIRM A FOUNDATION CAMPAIGN
The Campaign seeks $3 million. Through individual, foundation and corporate gifts, we hope to accomplish two purposes:
First, we must complete the endowed scholarship funds that make our school affordable even for families that have few economic resources. As of the start of the 2004-05 school years, we have just over $1.4 million of scholarship funds. With an additional $1.6 million, we can underwrite – for many years to come – scholarship help for needy young people. As the scholarship funds mature, we will also need $450,00 of transitional financial aid to meet current tuition assistance need.
Second, we want to complete several important building priorities. These include: improvements to the library, junior high classrooms and church hall/lunchroom ($250,000): retirement of the construction debt on the school building ($300,000): and preparation costs for a gymnasium and office wing ($400,000). We do not plan to fund the actual gym construction from this campaign, but continue to seek extraordinary help for that purpose.
GIVE A SPECIAL GIFT TO ST. PETER CLAVER THIS TAX SEASON
Starting in May, most people can expect an economic stimulus payment of $600 for individuals and $1,200 for married couples. Consider giving a portion of your payment as a gift to St. Peter Claver. Your generosity helps provide beautiful liturgies, support to our many ministries, and education to people of all ages.
