The Homeless Shelter Committee functions to facilitate the parishes’ sponsoring Project Home Homeless Shelter for families in April and October. We work to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the families who are guests during those months. We work to facilitate the shelter with the daily life of our Parish.

The Homeless Shelter Committee would like to express our gratitude to everyone who helped the Shelter effort in October - all who helped move in or out/worked a shift/was on call to work/helped with food/donated supplies or PJ's/helped keep the shelter clean & organized/helped call volunteers/advocated for the ministry/helped sign up volunteers and/or prayed for the ministry.  This ministry requires the support of the whole parish and we are so proud of our parish's efforts to make this ministry work.  May God richly bless you!  Please keep this ministry in your prayers for the future months as the guests are sheltered by other faith groups in our community.

Volunteer Opportunities:  We are a working Committee. Our work begins about six weeks before the opening of the shelter and ends up two weeks after the shelter closes for the month. There are two ways to be involved in the behind the scenes work of the ministry. First, you can join the Committee and take on tasks to make the shelter function. Second, you can take on a task, but not join the Committee. You may want to talk to a current Committee member to get a feel for how we work.

Please keep this ministry in prayer.  Thank you.

For the homeless, for those housed in the Project Home shelter in our church hall this past month, that those who have found housing may continue to live in a safe environment, but especially for those still seeking shelter.

For our parishioners, neighbors, and friends that have served as hosts to our Project Home guests this past month, that God will reward them for thier many hours of devotion to our guests, and also for those who will take over the Project Home shelters in two more churches next month.
